Sliced Pimples - Fuckin' Serious Guess Why...?

Thought I would share some Danish metal with you people.
Danish Thrash Metal/Crossover from the 80´s with a very ironic and
"fun" lyrical theme.
This is a vinyl rip and yes, some of the tracks are very short and no lyrics
so it is not a mistake :-)

If you like it, I will rip the other release featuring their cover of a song from
a famous danish child show on tv.

The Losers issues 1-12

A special forces team fighting the war on terror are double crossed by their "handler" for not following orders on a covert mission. Thought dead by the CIA, they lay low for 5 years. They come out of hiding with revenge on their minds and a special place at the top of a CIA death list.

Art, story and characters are all superb and make this a real page turner. Think the A-Team meets Jason Bourne. I read Warner Bros is making this into a movie which can't be good.

Ice - Saga Of The Ice King (1979)

Long before Bathory got ahold of the artwork, this most excellent (but terribly obscure) prog outfit was using it for this opus about when the earth was ruled by Nordic kings. They really don't make them like this anymore.

Necrodeath - Into The Macabre

whats this? my first post in like a year and of course instead of uploading something i've been listening to recently i just went into my mediafire folder and grabbed some metal album i uploaded but never shared for some reason. but really this is a great album if you like blackened death along the lines of sarcafago or slaughter.

Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska (1982)

I'm not a fan of everything The Boss has done but this album is pretty much perfect. This was intended to just be demos for an album with the E Street band he recorded on a 4 track in his home. No drums. No bass. Just The Boss, his guitar, a harmonica and him howling tales of personal loss, desperation, failure, family estrangement, debt, and murder (opening track is told from the POV of Charles Starkweather). There is no redemption for these characters and no happy endings here. Perfect record for a nation where 10% of it's citizens are unemployed and only projected to get worse.

Anneke Van Giersbergen and Danny Cavanagh - In Parallel [2009]

Danny Cavanagh from Anathema and the lady from The Gathering made an album that consists of Anathema songs, Gathering songs and a few cover songs from bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Massive Attack and... Dolly Parton?

This was only available at a few live shows they played in Europe.

Jude The Obscure - The Coldest Winter (2003)

i loved this when it came out, even though you could argue this sound was already hopelessly beaten into the ground by this point. i think it still stands up pretty decently today.

Bruce McCulloch - Shame-Based Man (1995)

in my opinion, "comedy songs" are usually terrible but this transcends your typical weird al or adam sandler kind of thing. you'll recognize bits of this from Kids in the Hall sketches too if, like me, you were a big fan of that show. often more strange and introspective than outright funny but i like it a lot. i can't promise that you will.

Lou Barlow - Goodnight Unknown (2009)

it's a new Lou Barlow (Sebadoh/Dinosaur Jr./Folk Implosion) solo album. with none other than Mr. Dale Crover on the drums.

Death in June - But What Ends When Symbols Shatter? (1992)

Someone at work burnt me this. Weird Celtic goth shoegaze. I wasn't feeling it at first, but with the season change I've been putting it on a little more. Can be truly scary while under the influence. For some reason I think of this or like a fucked up spaghetti western while listening.

Sunset Notes by Michio Kurihara

You know Michio, he plays with Ghost, the Stars and some guy named, Boris. This is a very spread out album ranging from old 70s psychedelic stuff to some shoe-gaze type style songs. Probably my pick on the whole album would be the third track, 'Wind Waltzes.' A simple song with very soft spoken singing on it with guitar and keyboards. It's a good listen and I'd recommend it to anyone. Enjoy.

I digress. anyone play Borderlands?
